Eternal God, Dios Eterno, we gather to celebrate the continuum of our spiritual life through death on this Dia de los Muertos.
We ask for your blessings as we prepare a feast with your gracious gifts to honor our deceased loved ones who have gone before us. In remembrance of them, we sing prayers and place marigold flowers, food, drink, and candles on the ofrenda to guide their spirits. We burn copal incense to cleanse and open our minds to listen to you.
Lead us all, the living and the dead, on our journey to eternal life with you in heaven. With deep gratitude for your gift of life, we ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
